Top Guns: Six Republican Presidential Contenders

DONALD TRUMP

Successful, business man, media mogul with the smarts, energy and net worth; to win in a Republican primary, and subsequently galvanize the people for a Republican win in 2012, this is no lightweight. Questions remain, however, whether Donald is a “conservative” at heart, or is he shifting positions to please the conservatives in the Republican Party.

President of New York’s Club for Growth, Chris Chocola, calls Trump a “liberal” on healthcare who has called for “massive tax hikes.”

“Donald Trump has advocated for massive tax increases that display a stunning lack of knowledge of how to create jobs. His love for a socialist-style universal health care system and his alarming obsession with protectionist policies are automatic disqualifiers among free-market conservatives. This publicity stunt will sputter and disappear just as quickly as the ‘The Apprentice’ is losing viewers.” (clubforgrowth.org)

It’s difficult to believe that Trump has a “love” for a socialist–style universal health care system the way Chocola describes it; Trump’s business, developing style, instead, has created so many American jobs, Trump seems more of a capitalist, than a socialist. Still, I give Mr. Chocola the benefit of the doubt, here’s what the weekly Standard says:

“We must have universal healthcare,” wrote Trump. “I’m a conservative on most issues but a liberal on this one. We should not hear so many stories of families ruined by healthcare expenses.”

Socialized healthcare is a serious issue Americans are against. We believe it violates the Constitution and is adverse to a capitalist system. Socialized medicine means rationed care and less choice in healthcare. “The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of Likely Voters shows that 52% favor repeal of the health care law, while 41% are opposed.” (RasmussenReports.com)

Trump is a mixture of Jesse Ventura and Schwarzenegger. Once in office, he will become a homo-promo and not care about any social issues. His Supreme Court picks would be scary.

I usually do not respond to blog pimping - I will say that your list shows the sorry state of the GOP.

I like Trump's views on the birth certificate and China, but there is a lot of truth in what you say.

If it’s Trump vs Romney, Trump will win the nomination over Romney. Many conservatives will stay away from both. Republicans will go for the new guy who makes them feel good about themselves. Trump is already courting social conservatives. (Franklin Graham) Romney will never win social conservatives to make up for his loss of liberals to Trump. He’ll only get the votes of fellow elites. There aren’t enough of them to matter in elections.

So in this situation Trump will be 2012 nominee and Mitt Romney, if he goes third party, will be Ross Perot.

Are you aware of the marketing technique known as "Bait and switch"?

Are you aware of the marketing technique known as "Bait and switch"?

Sure, with Trump that's a real possibility.

But who is screaming about the birth certificate issue? Trump, and no one else.

And who is sounding a strong warning about China's economic policies? Trump, and no one else.

The Washington elites want these issues to go away.

Now, I'm not saying that Palin and the others haven't mentioned these issues. But it's Trump who is yelling the loudest.
