Boeing corporation moved a portion of its Dreamliner 787 production line from Washington state to a $750 million South Carolina facility after failure to negotiate a contract with unions. Now that the East Coast facility is just three months from initial production, the Obama administration's National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) has filed what may be the largest labor lawsuit in 50 years against Boeing to prevent the South Carolina plant from coming online.
The federal suit alleges that Boeing built the plant in South Carolina to retaliate against the machinists union for past strikes. The machinist union has gone on strike against Being five times costing billions of dollars to the airplane builder. While opinions vary, Boeing could simply be making a precautionary move to prevent future strikes - a responsible action. The suit would allow the federal government to mandate that the 787 production be done only in Washington.
Senator Jim DeMint (R-SC) said, "This is nothing more than a political favor for the unions who are supporting President Obama's re-election campaign.." And Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) added, "If successful, the NLRB complaint would allow unions to hold a virtual veto' over business decisions..".
Boeing commented on the lawsuit calling it "frivolous" and promised to open the South Carolina as scheduled. Strangely, the first hearing will be with a judge that works for the NLRB on June 14th after which the NLRB will review that judges decision.
When examining the progressive side of the argument, it becomes clear why Boeing needed to increase the rate of divestiture in Blue states..

F Washington state.
And F California too.
Still not close to that. They do everything legally.
Millions going to attorneys.
Rich Mitchell, I don’t who you are, but you are a newbie here on FR. This post comes from conservativedailynews.com. I’ve seen more than one post from this place. One of the first ads on this site is talking about Lugar 2012 being an effective conservative. I’m from Indiana and Dick Lugar is about as far as you can get from a real conservative. He’s a RINO big time. I think you are a troll and there is nothing conservative about you. You are here to make trouble.
South Carolina is a “right to work” state. One can be hired and fired at will. No reason is needed whatsoever.
Boeing should move to Asia just like the wealth in this country is doing. The us government is hellbent on getting the wealth out of America.
Abolish the NLRB.
Yes indeed!
Why the excerpt?
California is already F’d. Gov. Moonbeam has seen to that.
NLRB files complaint against Boeing over S.C. plant
By Matt Tomsic
The National Labor Relations Board filed a complaint Wednesday, calling for Boeing to open a second 787 final assembly line in Washington state to remedy what it calls an illegal transfer of work to non-union facilities in North Charleston.
Boeing is building a multi-million dollar facility near Charleston International Airport to complement its first final assembly line in the Seattle area.
The board is pursuing an order to require Boeing to maintain a second assembly line in Washington state, though the complaint does not ask for the line in South Carolina to be closed, according to a news release from the NLRB.
There's more going on here than just the 787. Obama also killed the EADS North America production of the KC-45, U.S. Air Force aerial refueling tanker, that was to be built in Mobile, AL. The contract was awarded in 2008.
Later the KC-45 contract was awarded to Boeing in 2011. Boing announced that the KC-45 would also be built in South Carolina.

The people on the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) that made the decision to force Boeing to produce the aircraft (KC-45, 787, & others) in Washington State are recess appointees that have never been confirmed by the Senate.
This info is all over the Internet. No news agency has put all the peaces together, yet? Obama is screwing the South (Red States) in favor of his union buddies.
You mean like the private sector I work in? Holy cow! Say it ain't so!...(/s)

Boeing wins $35 billion Air Force refueling tanker contract
By AUBREY COHEN, SEATTLEPI.COM STAFF, February 23, 2011
Boeing won the U.S. Air Force's $35 billion contract to build 179 aerial refueling tankers, Pentagon and Air Force officials announced Thursday.
"Boeing was a clear winner," Deputy Secretary of Defense William Lynn said in announcing the decision.
Competitor EADS North America did not rule out a potential protest of the decision.
Boeing said a tanker win would mean an estimated 11,000 jobs in Washington, including at the company's Everett 767 assembly line, and a total of 50,000 jobs nationwide. EADS North America said its tanker would support 48,000 U.S. Jobs.
Analysts gave EADS the edge in recent weeks, after release of battlefield assessments of the two tankers reportedly showed a big advantage for the KC-45. The Air Force sent the assessments to both bidders accidentally, at first, and then shared the data again after learning that an EADS employee inadvertently looked at the Boeing information
