Donald Trump on Obama: Investigate Rezco!
Conservative Spotlight ^ | April 17, 2011 | Fred Dardick

Posted on 04/17/2011 1:48:38 PM PDT by FredDardick

I highly doubt Donald Trump is presidential material, but he sure makes for one great Republican attack dog. Finally a celebrity big enough to get the attention of Americans outside of the conservative community is speaking out against Obama’s shady past. After once again raising legitimate concerns over Obama’s sham “birth certificate” during an appearance on the Fax News program Hannity, Trump expressed alarm over Obama’s real estate dealings with convicted Chicago influence peddler Antoin “Tony” Rezco.

For those of you who still haven’t heard, Obama’s Chicago home that he bought in 2005 was located on a property split into 2 parcels; one with the house and the other an adjacent side yard. The owner was willing to sell the properties separately, but only if they were purchased at the same time. Since Obama couldn’t afford to buy both, he had to find a sugar daddy to back him or he could kiss his dream home goodbye.

Obama did exactly what you would expect out of a sleazy Chicago politician, he turned to his biggest campaign contributor, Tony Rezco, to purchase the side yard for him. On the same day that Obama closed on his home for $1.65 million, $300,000 less than list price, Rezco’s wife bought the adjacent parcel for the full asking price of $625,000. A year later Rezco sold a 10 ft. strip of the land to Obama for $104,500, which rendered the remainder of Rezco’s property too small to be developed and, for all intents and purposes, worthless. To this day the land remains empty.

Obama would have us believe these transactions, made with a man who later went to jail for fraud and bribery, were some sort of cosmic coincidence that had nothing to do with Rezco’s purchase of influence in an up and coming State Senator. Common sense indicates otherwise. As Trump pointed out on Hannity, other politicians have had their careers destroyed for far less an indication of impropriety.

Trump has done a great job breaking through the MSM iron curtain to publicize the facts surrounding Obama’s birth certificate, or more accurately the lack thereof, and I can only hope he will do the same with Rezco. While liberals may be able to chuckle away the “was he born in Hawaii or wasn’t he” deal, a convicted slumlord’s involvement in Obama’s purchase of multi-million dollar home is no laughing matter.

But the deal was unethical because Rezko had conferred a benefit by helping Obama obtain something he “couldn’t otherwise afford”. Plain as day. Obama should have been investigated / prosecuted. At a minimum shamed from office. He and his wife are crooks!

“Obama would still have to overpay, even for just the house.”

How do you figure that? He paid $1.65m., $300K LESS than the asking price even as Rezco’s wife is paying $125K MORE than market value for her lot. He later paid $104.5K for a piece of Rezco’s lot, which thereby makes that $500K lot unbuildable, thereby conferring Obama with a view he could not have afforded unless he’d been willing to acquire that lot.

So Obama essentially paid $1.75 million for combined properties worth $2.45 million. Happens every day. Nothing to see here, folks. Tony Rezco’s just a swell guy (Obama would be happy to give you a character reference for him if that would make you happy). Can’t we talk about something serious?

I agree. I like what he is saying, but i could easily see him saying the exact opposite if he were planning to run against a conservative Republican.

He’s Mitt Romney with courage and bad hair.

I am not defending Obama and the deal was total sleaze but as far as borrowing $903,000 on a $1,650,000 sales price every lender in town will do that deal. Its 54.7% LTV and not a problem for anyone. I was a Fannie Mae underwriter, and underwriter for major lenders for 10 years and a mortgage broker for 17 years. That is a slam dunk loan. Anything below 75% LTV is a no brainer and they could get the same exact loan right now on that house. Of course its probably decreased in value at this point.

Now the sale of the lot from Rezko is another thing entirely. That needs to be investigated. Trump is right.

“pulled a shady property stunt like this or FAR WORSE to get a property.” Mark Levin told a story that a few years back, Trump pulled every string in the book to get an elderly lady's home condemned because he wanted the property for part of a building. You know the reason, it would be for the public good. He lost. The home now stands in the middle of Trump's building (casino?).

You have to be the #1 hypocrite at FR. For years you have been trashing Sarah Palin, who was almost single-handedly battling Obama while Trump was contributing to every liberal Democrat and RINO in sight and no Republicans.

Now you have a man-crush on one of the biggest frauds in the history of American politics. Trump has changed positions on key issues out of political expediency more often than Romney.

But, now, in your mind, anyone who is dissing Trump and his history is an Obama supporter.

You are an absolute joke!

“They get a chance to delegitimize the claims before the election as the ravings of “The Donald” with no corroborating proof thereby immunizing Obama against these claims in the election. I theorize that Trump is a willing accomplice in the re election effort of Obama.”

I theorize that you over-theorize. Turn the bubble machine off. You’re in overdrive.

You can't honestly think Sarah would choose someone like The Donald as a running mate do you?

For many Americans, Mr. Trump is an expect in Real Estate.
When Mr. Trump says the deal stinks, I would tend to believe Mr. Trump

He’s there to make outrageous claims he knows will be eviscerated by the press.

Specifically, what outrageous claims are you referring to?

"Birther" claims? That is the lexicon of the Left that uses such terms as birther and denier to ridicule and demean the oppostion. Trump has asked that Obama release the long form of his birth certificate. Trump has said that he hopes that he has one. Is that so outrageous?

It is not up to Trump to prove anything. The burden of proof is on Obama. Why hasn't he released the document and others like his school and medical records.? What is he hiding?

I highly doubt Donald Trump is presidential material

Whenever I hear someone make this type of comment about a potential GOP nominee, it makes me think, "How about Obama? He was a community organizer, a one term state senator where he voted "present" most of the time". And he was a less than one-term US Senator who spent most of that time campaigning. So what made/makes Obama "presidential material"?

I join with others on this thread who have asked you:

What “outrageous claims” has Trump made?

And I ask that as a Palin-supporter who is very wary of Trump’s ulterior motives.

But the question is to you: What “outrageous claims” has he made?
