This surgery was clearly not medically futile, it seems to me. The only reason the Canadian hospital refused it, would be the doctors/bioethicists/administration considered the life he is living as futile, or at least, not worth the money to sustain. Exactly, the Canadians weren't really saying the treatment was futile, they were trying to say that Baby Joseph was futile.

Much like Terri Schiavo, this is another landmark, watershed case. Notice the media has dropped it. I was hoping it would spark more debate that would extend outside the blogosphere.
