"I don't hear (Team Obama) talking about Mr Pawlenty
or anybody else... they're only talking about Trump"
Donald Trump is already claiming to be the one Barack Obama fears the most, and based upon the telling cheap shot that David Plouffe -of DNC Troll Patrol fame- took last weekend on Face the Nation... he may be right.
Trump's people are now investigating Obama's well-shrouded background, employing "great resources... looking into it very seriously". Like the seasoned competitor and showman that he is, The Donald also makes sure to let loose a daily round or two himself to keep that Trump name on the front pages whilst he chips away steadily at the false Obama narrative...

Recent noteworthy quotes:
"I'm Barack Obama's worst nightmare"
"I am a Christian... I believe in God"
"I think the Bible is, certainly, it is THE book"
"China is running away with our jobs, they're just doing a number on us like never before."
"Libya! a total mess- I mean, the man is doing a terrible job as president"
"(Obama) has no control over OPEC because they don't respect him"
"You're going to see your gasoline for your car be six, seven,
and eight dollars a gallon very soon"
"Just show us the (Obama long-form BC) proof"
"I like how now (Obama) says 'we have to work on the budget'- where the heck has he been for the last two years?"
"Here's a guy who's never done a deal in his life, except with Tony Rezko..."
"His grandmother said very clearly he was born in Kenya... until all the handlers went crazy"
"...why is his family arguing over which hospital he was born in?
They don't even know..."
"Let the ObamaCare case go straight to the Supreme Court"
"The last person they want to run against is me... and I know that from a fact, from people who are very close to Obama"
"I will tell you this: the country's not respected... it's poorly run... we're a laughing stock throughout the world..."
"There are a lot of things we can do to reduce that deficit...
and I mean in a hurry"
"I would love to take (Obama) on"

Trump 2012...?
Truth be told, the knee-jerk reaction was negative... then I started thinking: I want a real fighter to rip into Obama hard while also a true conservative we can depend on to swing a mean budget axe... willing to go on the offensive to unseat this heinous regime in the most aggressive fashion possible. Otherwise, the unholy Prog/MSM alliance will simply chew us up... much as they've already done to Palin, sadly.
But it's not just the debt, and of all our numerous simultaneous crises the economy is the one likely to make or break the 2012 election, barring a terrorist attack or other momentous event.
Who do we have running (or thinking about it) that possesses the acumen for jump-starting entrepreneurs and small business? We can't affford to fail this time, the country's on the financial ropes. Besides Donald Trump, maybe Mitt Romney... but I'd take Trump over him or any similar RINO in a New York minute- wouldn't you?
Clearly Trump would fight like a tiger... and have fun doing it, a key to success in any endeavor. Add to that essential quality his business background, powerful name recognition, winning take-no-prisoners style and true conservative platform (below)... I'm going to give the guy a real serious look... if he can beat Obama, I can't say I'd have any real issues with a Trump presidency.
He also has vast experience dealing with politicians of all stripes -both domestic and international- and I doubt any personal baggage 3x married Trump brings will make a difference this time- the country is scared, and seeks a firm hand bringing practical solutions stat.
Trump has stated he'll "probably" run as an independent if denied the GOP nomination... so we all better get used to the idea of a Trump 2012 campaign- seems a near certainty.
The balance of any Trump platform might be expected to look a little something like this, based on prior statements...
more conservative than expected? That was my impression:
____________________________________________________________________
- Supports a fair trade policy and believes generally that the People's Republic of China should be considered more of an adversarial competitor, subjected to significant import tariffs as a response to China's currency policy in order to help balance the U.S. budget.
- Believes the U.S. should disengage in Iraq and Afghanistan

I wish Alan Keyes would enter the race.
Oh...so you want to throw the race? That guy has been a political failure in every aspect.... Im not speaking about Trump in the statement however. Just commenting on Keyes.

not many there who can withstand the withering attacks on the way from the Left. Trump can. That remains very much to be seen. If Trump enters the primary, the Left and the "media" will hold their fire until the day after he's nominated. Then, he'll see what it's like to face a real onslaught.

The Republicans are being set up again. They know that Obama is destined to lose a two-candidate race. In comes the new “little general”...
To: ScottinVA
And even THAT is a stretch for Trump. IIRC, Perot, for all his faults, didn't play chameleon to suit the week. Granted.

“True, the TEA party is attempting to steer the party to a Constitutional stance, but the R’s are still miles away.”
The real problem is that there actually is a ‘political class’. These are the leeches upon society who are doing the damage. They and the media are in an unholy alliance that feeds the narcissistic needs of each. The failure to not put strict term limits for all public offices into the constitution was an unfortunate mistake of the framers. They thought the voters would take care of that. They did not, however, foresee the power of propaganda and how this would nullify the power of the ballot.

If he goes indie, he's not in it to win, unless handing the election to Obama is considered a "win." And if the Repubs put up a half-baked candidate Romney for example expect another loss.

Alan Keyes is a conservative

Don't think for a moment that bashing liberals, Democrat or Republican, is going to stop around this forum anytime soon.
And while you're at it, you can stop abusing the conservative legacy of Ronald Reagan too.
Reagan didn't create the 11th commandment. California state GOP chairman Gaylord Parkinson created that slogan in 1966 during the race for Governor. It was meant to counter the attacks on candidate Reagan from his GOP primary opponent, liberal San Francisco Mayor, George Christopher. For the next ten years that slogan was dormant in the political arena. To my knowledge Reagan didn't use it once.
Trump is the diametrically opposite of Reagan. Trump is the anti-Reagan.

I was in another thread sticking up for Sarah Palin while you go around bashing fellow republicans. He's an all around troll. Always has been.

I can’t even listen to anyone saying negativities about Trump. Right now, that’s like praising Hitler for the trains running on time. Trump is the only one with the bwalls (ny accent) to take on Obama! He is our little boy, crying out that the Emperor is buck naked! Go, Donald!

Who in their right mind would trust Trump on things like nominating conservative judges - especially to the Supreme Court?
Trump is just as likely to nominate consensus candidates rather than strict conservatives. An actual Republican president at least answers to the conservative base, someone like Trump probably wouldn’t.
Trump is not a real conservative and is not a serious candidate. That so many right of center folks seem smitten by him reflects badly on conservatives/Republicans in general.
If he actually runs for President, Donald Trump will most likely fill a spoiler role much like Perot did. He will split the opposition to Obama thus guaranteeing him a second term.
To: Jim Noble
This is what I am saying. He is no Ross Perot. If the wimpgop does run with a Weenie like Romney or huckster, only idiots will vote for the GOP. Independents pretty much despise Obama. I do not know one Jew who would vote for Obama again. (I know there are plenty but he won’t get them all again)
Independents and people whose lives are far worse than in 2008 will vote for trump.

Yeah, I'm going to start ignoring the Republican bashers.
They'll sign up for an account 10 yrs back and let it set, they attach Reagan's name to their nick and come in from the DU and bash Republicans but never give us an alternative. Now they are getting a little complacent.. anti-enterprise. Probably living with their mothers and wearing sandals smoking pot and masking as republicans but all they do is bash them.

Bingo. You definitately do have a brain.
If you want to reelect Obama, Thr last thing you’d do is push his eligibility and his deals with rezko, etc in Thr mainstream media.
All trump is saying about the GOP is that if the weenies don’t want him as their nominee, he thinks the American people still would by far prefer him.

In my book, Dennis Miller remains a liberal, maybe with a dose of libertarianism thrown in for good measure.
Like Miller, Ron Silver backed Bush in the WOT. IIRC, he remained a liberal until his death. Don't know if he died a registered Dem or Pub. At best, Silver was a neocon.
The facts indicate Trump is a liberal.

I believe when he says he’s an honorable guy thereofore I must believe he’s sincere when he says he’s prolife. He’s got my attention. I would also like a choice and if the GOP puts in someone like Romney I’ll be able to vote for Trump otherwise I won’t be voting.
