Not so fast...they blamed the 'mistake' on an employee...who transcribed the wrong date. TWICE. Well, 'they' would, wouldn't they? After presenting something clearly impossible, as their own 1961 calendar shows semester commencement as September 25, 'they' had to blame the typist. And the correction they made was SEPTEMBER 19. Still WRONG. Wrong by only six days, but STILL WRONG. All 'they' changed was an 8 into a 9. I am still not convinced there isn't some skullduggery going on.

I don't think so. The 25th was the day classes started. For night school people registered the week before. The 19th would have been one of the biggest dates.

If you look at the transcript entry for the next quarter, I believe it shows a start date in December because that was when registration took place and would have taken place in the ordinary course of business. The actual start date for class was in the first week in January. Same same.

The practice showed the registration date for extension (night school) classes as the start date.
