Wow...thanks for posting this. I remember going to the movies and Woolworth’s was across the street. We’d go there for a cherry coke and fries.

They were genius... not too many could shop there long without succombing to the smells, imo that’s why the counter ran down the side of the store, not separated like Target or IKEA’s, for instance... they know what they were doing for a while, but time passed them by- I think K-Mart did them in in the 70s

Definitely a blast from the past. In the early 60’s my girlfriends and I would get on the bus and go downtown (Jacksonvile, Fl) to shop at the dept store then over to Woolworth’s for lunch. I always got the grilled cheese, fries and a cherry coke. We were lucky to grow up in such a wonderful time. I feel sorry for kids nowadays they have no clue how great childhood used to be.
