Well.... a Google search on plain old Hanno Essén yields this page, revealing him to be a professor of Theoretical Physics at Stockholm University.

Heck, I could just be stupid, but this guy seems moderately respectable.

The most sophisticated scammers will do public demonstrations and try to obscure the other attributes so it isn’t as obvious.

This demonstration of boiling water and everything, it is a prime example of what to look at in a scam.

If he wanted to demonstrate, he would have used outside instruments from his guests and not conducted cheap parlor games.

I have a device that produces so much power, it will make a table float in mid air right before your eyes, the device is the size of a ball point pen.

I could put anyone’s name on a story to add a air of legitimacy even if they in fact have privately told me they have deep concerns.

In Europe, people rarely go out in public to accuse you of perpetrating a scam.

I could invite you to see my product and say that it is the greatest product ever and you came to see it. People would wrongly conclude that you are endorsing the product. Now in the US you would issue a press release saying this isn’t the case to correct the record and report accurately how you really feel. In Europe, they wouldn’t want to cause any friction because nothing said was untrue, it is only the readers assumption.

Yes, I watched it. It was a polite discussion not an endorsement.

Still doesn’t change the fact that the person described in the article doesn’t exist. It may simply be a poor translation.

So you're just going to try to gloss over your mistake with respect to the existence and credentials of Essén and Kullander.

Which tells me a lot about you. Suffice it to say, if you can't be trusted on something obvious, there's no reason to give much credit to your skepticism.

I don’t have anything to loose, just don’t like scams and those that assist in spreading them knowingly or unknowingly.

I like critical review of these things, these articles are designed to pump up the reader and sell magazines just like the National Enquirer. Occasionally even the National Enquirer will have a true article in it, still doesn’t mean I get my news from them.

The fact that this guy has a history of these scams, isn’t melting my skepticism one bit.

It’s not surprising that people are skeptical — what Rossi is saying happens has never been known to happen before.

Aviation had its doubters until it was undeniable that planes could fly — then the Wrights became heroes.

If it’s a real effect it could make major differences around the world.

If it’s not real then Rossi will go down in history as just another scam artist.

In a few months, either Rossi will have his megawatt pilot plant up, or he won't. If he doesn't, then we move on. If he does, then we can start being very more interested.

If he demonstrates proof-of-concept, then the next step would be to convert some existing coal-fired plant scheduled to be shut down because it can't meet EPA demands. Rossi would be offered a deal: help convert the plant to his device, and he gets some amount of money for every megawatt-hour generated (if it doesn't work, he gets nothing). See if he takes the offer.

You know, the most glaring red light that all these web sites have pointed out is that this group wasn’t allow to bring their own radiation detectors nor get gamma ray data from the experiment. You can’t have a nuclear reaction without radiation.

Reading that, makes me go, there is your smoking gun. There is absolutely zero risk that this data would help you reverse engineer the device, it could only have pointed to fraud due to a lack of an active reaction.

The one simplest test, with zero risk to the inventor, isn’t allowed. .....................hmmmm

One other thing these sites point out, many instances where they say physicists verified measurements, well physicists should be physicist being “Sergio Focardi” which is under contract with Rossi.

They point out that during experiments, only Sergio Focardi actually took any readings. There are links to the videos on these other threads. The visiting physicists weren’t actually allowed to verify for themselves as has been inferred.
