I look at requesting US service women to wear a hijab from a different angle. It says that the US think the Muslims they are around are so primitive and ignorant that they do not comprehend women who are not subservient and treated like furniture.
It says that in their pathetic culture, only men carry guns and are human beings. Women are expendable and unimportant. That is why the US also tolerates an Afghan government that is a throwback to a form of organization that should have died out at least 600 years ago, with a brutal and unfair legal system of Sharia law to keep them that way.
That policy basically says that Afghans are like creatures we keep in our zoos. We expect no modernity, rationality, reason, or common sense from them. They have no future on their own. They cannot compete with other peoples, so are damned to extinction outside of their pens.
As long as they remain in their cage, their lives mean nothing to us, as they seem to mean nothing to them, either. Beasts of the field.
When our women come home, they will do so to respect and honor, as intelligent and brave humans should be treated. The Afghans can go back to worshiping idols made of mud, beating their heads on the floor, and treating all their illnesses with cattle dung, in between killing each other for sport.
OUCH!
Well said.
