So last Saturday, Earth Hour took place- that mystical event when cities around the world pledge to turn off the power, and go dark for an hour.
It began in Australia in 2007, and has since spread like a pimply rash to more than 130 countries.
But If you missed it, its not your fault.
I totally drank my way through it and the only thing I had off were my pants.
And now, after five years, some commentators are pronouncing the fad over, which suggest were all uncaring jerks.
Which I know I am anyway.

Ping-a-ling!
Evening FRiend, how did you “celebrate” Earfhour?
Damn! Does that mean I can't wear my "save the Earth!" T-shirt??
Welp I rubbed two sticks to gether and lit a fart on fire. Wait what time was it?
No way, really. Too busy celebrating Human Achievement Hour, with as full a fusillade of candle power as I could muster. You?
I made my house look like Seoul instead of Pyongyang.
I think I was playing one of the Text Twist word games on this computer while watching TV, with a four-light (non-CFL) overhead fan twirling away right next to the a/c flowing from its ceiling vent. I did my best to celebrate Earth’s bounty of fossil fuels.
That isn’t what we were supposed to do? Will have to do better next time...wait, there might not be a next time? Oh well...
Where is the Simpson HA-HA kid when you need him :)
I lit my place up like a Christmas tree and turned on/charged all kinds off stuff.
I usually do the same. Just plain missed Earfhour this year...
you rock.
you rock. too. :)
How disgusting to revere an “event” begun by a murderer.
Earth Hour?
Never even heard of it. I would never participate in this anyway. Good too see that people ignored it.
It reminds me of people who turn their engines off at railroad crossings. It takes more fuel to “power up” the engine than to leave it running. I’d bet a dollar that turning the lights back on after an hour used more energy than if they’d just left them on. Especially CFL’s which take a while to warm up.
