A lot of the 80s bands that were “influenced” by Zeppelin are far better than Zeppelin themselves were.

The Police are also overrated, IMO.

Very overrated.

I think U2 (Bono) has done some very good writing. One of my favorites is "She's a Mystery to Me" or "Mystery Girl" written by Bono for Roy Orbison. I think the style fits Roy perfectly. His voice still gives me chills when he sings it.
U2's appeal started to wane for me with everything after Joshua Tree--that album is still very listenable and enjoyable to me and brings back a lot of memories. IMO, it's one of the all-time best.
