Jim Suttle, Mayor of Omaha, has an interesting "solution" to his city's $1.7 billion federally mandated sewer improvement project. What is it? A toilet paper tax, a 10-cent federal tax per toilet paper roll.
The Omaha World-Herald broke it down for all of those toilet toting consumers: "Based on the four-pack price for Charmin double rolls Tuesday at a midtown Hy-Vee, such a tax would add more than 10 percent to the per-roll price, pushing it over a buck."
Maybe Sheryl Crow was right, only use one square of toilet paper per sitting, "except for those pesky occasions where 2 or 3 could be required."
Except in this case we will be protecting the checkbook, not the forests.
LOL! My dad told me that story about the red corn cob. BTW, I heard stories of moms that would pull out all of the bra ads in catalogues for the outhouse, lest the young men get OTHER ideas.
