I love Sarah Palin. There, Ive said it. While Ive never met her, that is beside the point.
What is right on point however is why I love her. Sarah Palin bleeds American. She is not American simply because of an accident of birth. Rather, she understands what makes America different; she believes that America is exceptional and knows what makes it so; she is passionately pro-American without being jingoistic; she is willing to fight for what she believes regardless of whos lined up against her; she is willing to put her credibility and reputation on the line to help others who share her views. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, she is a normal, average, regular person.
Sarah Palin did not grow up rich or attend an Ivy League school. She did not spend her life in a courtroom extorting money from corporations or small businesses. She did not spend her life in an ivory tower or in an editorial room pontificating about how the world works in some fantasy universe where government regulations make everyone pure and everything perfect in every circumstance. No, she has lived a fairly normal life, one you might call working class.
I remember back in 88 or 92 someone asked George H.W. Bush if he knew the price of milk, and he didnt. He was of course pilloried for being out of touch with the common man. (Frankly it doesnt bother me at all that the VP or President of the United States doesnt know the price of milk let someone else buy the milk, Id rather him focus on knowing how much of our money government is wasting!) Sarah Palin probably knows the price of a gallon of milk. More importantly, she understands America from where the tire hits the road. She started out her political career at the PTA because she wanted to improve the education her children were getting. From there she spent four years on the Wasilla city council and six years as mayor. Next she was appointed to chair the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission and later defeated the incumbent to become the Governor of Alaska. In every one of those endeavors Palin showed herself to be not only capable, but effective and successful as well. Indeed, the latter two positions found her fighting an Alaska version of Tammany Hall.
She has demonstrated a willingness to fight for what she believes in, even if it is within her own party. She defeated the Murkowski machine in Alaska and she stood side by side with tea party candidates across the country in 2010, often against the wishes of the entrenched GOP establishment. Christine ODonnell may have been a flawed candidate, but at least the citizens of Delaware had a choice between two distinctly different paths rather than the choice between the liberal and more liberal paths they would have had with Chris Coons and Mike Castle. They may have chosen bigger government, but at least for a change they had a choice, and Sarah Palin helped give them one.

Broken heart in his future!
More to the point, she can also explain why it costs as much as it does and explain how government policies (specifically, regarding energy costs) led to that price.
This coming from someone whose mind is already broken......
The time has come to question the conventional wisdom which asks the question: “Is a candidate electable?”.
The truth is my dog could beat 0bama.
The question becomes: “Who has the guts to turn around this socialist Rat/Soros agenda?”
On that score Palin looks to be a top contender.
“Sarah Palin bleeds American”
Hehehehehe. I like that. Her blood runs red, white and blue.
:(
Are you in love with her too?
Nuff said, enjoy your crappy day.
Getting thrown the standard lakeshark personal insults on a “I got a crush on Palin” thread makes my day! How could it get better?
I gotta say, I am getting there also on Sarah. To be honest, I had hoped for Mike Pence because I thought him wiley and thoroughly experienced, perfectly positioned and AUTHENTIC, with all the right stuff, including inarguable competence. In his absence, there is no one else but Sarah.
If this list of wannabes’ is the final one, then I will cheerfully go up or down with Sarah rather than the sell out route for lesser of two evils.
She is authentic, principled and patriotic to the core. She will train wreck communism in our country and that’s the number one threat to our nation.
Is she experienced enough? No. Is she a genius or even competent in world history & geography? No. But, she is us. She is the USA. God help us and Sarah.
You are playing with fire throwing those “Palin reservations” comments in your other complementary text on a “I love Sarah” thread. There is no room on this thread for those type of reservations :)
The endless “I got a Crush on Sarah” threads are not a good sign, they almost have to end in disappointment. Did you see some liberals want to take away Obama’s Peace prize? That is the priceless story of the day. The other liberals are defending Obama following the Bush doctrine. They have to be in pain now . Just a pleasant note :)
I will evaluate candidates when they are willing to come forth and tell us what they would do as president. Incidentally Ross Perot would flip out when he was asked that question on network TV.
is that you pissant?
Naw, he would be complaining about Palin on a “I love Palin” thread that she didnt even write. That doesnt make any sense.
You dont see me posting endless “Bachmann is better than Palin” threads, that was his act. It was amusing while it lasted.
Into married women are we?
Are we going to see mass FReepercide if Palin decides not to run?
Maybe, but the fight for freedom is worth an arduous attempt. All our hearts will be broken for America if the Punk wins re-election. Bob
No, but the EQ (enthusiasm quotient) will drop by half, at least. Bob
Personally I wouldn’t blame her a bit for not running. I think she is our best shot at a truly conservative president, but when all is said and done it’s a crappy job and the flak she has taken is beyond anything I’ve seen in modern politics.
My heart was broken when McCain got it in 2008 after the Bush-Pelosi-McCain amnesty bill ripped apart the R party. Didnt expect much after that.
I agree with you and she already has taken him on and is not afraid to do so. I can see he stripping the cool right off of him in a debate adn leaving him a shreiking liberal as they all end up when confronted with facts.
I blame Huckster for that debacle. No real conservative could catch fire with the mile deep and inch wide support of the socialist-lite reverend. He’ll get Romney the nomination this time if he runs, God forbid. Bob
