Thank you all who recommended me to :mrublaster & glaryutilies. Things are looking up on the c:drive.
I do have another query, tho, and would appreciate any feedback on the info i have from after defrag>
"Volume on c:drive capacity 25.00GB" "Free space :15.66GB" % of Free Space: 62%
Am I in danger of losing space on this one? I'm sensing that my c:drive has no memory
I'm running the browser:Mozilla Firefox latest version on a DELL Latitude D600 Win 7 XP pro.
I would appreciate any input and thanks guys, for giving me those sites to do actual clean-up & maintenance. That mrublaster and glary utitilities are wonderful!
Does anyone want to have a say in this?

If you have a 25 gig hard drive running Windows 7 I'm betting you upgraded an older machine that will have difficulty running Win 7. You need a couple of gigs of ram to run Win 7 right or it will be slow and go to the hard drive too much. If you have a 25 gig drive and you have 15 gigs left, that should be plenty to run. I think I would look elsewhere for trouble. To run Windows 7, you need a fast CPU and gobs of memory. Mine has 4 gigs that came with Windows 7 on it. The hard drive is a 250 gig.

You could probably spend the rest of your life typing documents and not fill 9.x GB. OTOH, you could fill it in under 4 hours if you download and store full motion video/movies. Barring relentless downloading, you will not fill 9.x GB very quickly at all. An easy way to determine your remaining disk space is to hit "start" > "run" > type "cmd" in the space, whereupon a DOS window will open up. Type DIR A bunch of stuff will scroll by, and the last line will give you the no of bytes that are free. Take note of that number somewhere and do this again in a week, a month. [when you are done with the DOS window, type "exit" . If you find yourself chewing up large amounts of that free space, prolly time to throw in another hard drive. Or give yourself some more breathing room by saving stuff to CD or DVD. It's also not a bad idea to get a home backup drive. Although in my experience, that doesn't induce a person to clean up their disk!

Sorry, I misread...you have 15.x GB free, not 9.x. Plenty, unless you download relentlessly. And....if that were your habit, you would know it.

Type DIR A bunch of stuff will scroll by, and the last line will give you the no of bytes that are free. LOL. Easy? Just right click on the drive (works for folders too) in Explorer and select "Properties." That'll even show a pie chart of free/used storage space.
