Most grocery stores only stock a couple days of food anyway.

“Most grocery stores only stock a couple days of food anyway.”

Bullcrap. I shop at Sams, and there is enough food in there to keep my family fed for hundreds of years...of course the other 99,999 families that depend on Sams see the same thing.

That’s what is so deceptive about going to always-stocked markets...most people get the idea that they will never run out. But they will, and probably in more like a couple of hours, once panic buying sets in.

And so what does one do? You panic-buy before the panic, store the stuff away, and don’t tell anyone that lives within a 1000 miles of you what you’ve done (unless they’ve done the same).

This is something that people fail to grasp. Every grocery carries only what they really need to sell, and have nightly deliveries to replenish the shelves. It’s not like it was in the 1980s when they kept a week’s worth of items on the shelf. This is all the more reason for folks to keep emergency rations in the garage for emergency periods like this.

My Dad, believes we are nine meals away from Armageddon.

Meaning food would be depleted in 3 days or less if the trucks stop rolling!
