‘1 cent per kwh’... Brother, have I heard that before. Nuclear power advocates said the same thing. Not sayin’ we shouldn’t go that way, just modestly suggesting that ‘there ain’t no such a thing as a free lunch’.
Yeah, the cost to PRODUCE electricity is far different than the:
- costs to comply with health and safety laws
- costs to pay union workers
- costs to comply with environmental regulations
- costs to monitor and meter the electricity
- costs to build the distribution system
- costs of maintenance
- and of course, taxes
