Bringing politics into Glee will not set well with those that like Glee or AI to escape from politics, 24/7. The younger audience would also rather be entertained musically by those of their own generation, identify with the butch gym teacher, the favorite "someone who understands" teacher, the teacher romance rumors and the principal who attempts to make law and keep order out of it all, than the image that Griffin is reported to portray--a persnickety Tea Party type?
Adding Griffin is like when they added Janeane Garofalo to the TV series 24, she became a real distraction.
Griffin is as far away from being cool as Urkle was to his peers.
