Luke White is the author of the Dublin editions in 1787 and 1792.

There is much confusion as to which American Edition was printed first. Many sources cite Samuel Campbell's 1796 edition called The law of nations; or priciples of the law of nature; applied to the conduct of affairs of nations and sovereigns...1st American Edition, Corrected and Revised from the Latest London Edition from the French.

However, this is not true. The first edition was Messyrs, Berry, and Rogers in 1787. It can be found in the Library of Congress and is an extremely rare edition. I have attempted to receive facimiles from various libraries around the nation and the world. Each time I get a different copy, one from White, another from Campbell, some even from Chitty. It is clear the libraries do not understand the nuances of the different editions.
