On January 2nd Allen Haywood was attacked by a bunch of teenagers. The attack was filmed yet no one helped. This led many to believe the hooligan teenagers were trying to make a YouTube video, much like the Florida teens that beat up a girl in 2008.
On February 25th there was another attack, this time at the Suitland station on the Green line. The attack has prompted the DC branch of the guardian angels to patrol the metro stations more closely.
In August last year there was a brawl involving 70 people.
These particular attacks were highly publicized but not uncommon at all. They are not isolated incidents.
This is getting out of control. These types of things should not ever happen. If you’ve ever been on the DC metro late at night then you know the types of mutants that frequent it. There are always tons of intoxicated jerks that easily get out of control. And that’s just on a regular night. On holidays it’s even worse. I was on the metro for New Years Eve in 2009 and I can tell you that night was a border line riot.

Hmmmm...somehow, the hubby has kept these attacks under my radar...
I do know that one morning the hubby was on his morning commute, and re-filling his Metro card...and was robbed of his freshly re-funded card. I should note that my husband is a Disabled soldier on active duty. Some scum bag robbed a US soldier in uniform who depends on a cane.
Why? Low on blog hits this month?
