I’m an artist and I’ve had the unenviable task of having to “age” the only photo somebody had of a ~young~ person into a portrait of what they looked like 50-60 years later.
As such, intimately studying and scrutinizing facial structure is one the “necessary evils” of the job.
The laugh lines running alongside his mouth, the nose, the chin, the jawline, the eyes, the ears [the most “modified” match...maternal influence could account for that], the hairline, the angles and planes of the two faces line up eerily.
*If* I had a way to place a bet on a DNA test, I would bet BIG.
