exactly, if you look at the photos of major gun and drug busts in Mexico. There are fully auto weapons, RPG etc.
I have been to gun shows in AZ and you can not buy an RPG. Foreign governments and arms dealer have a much greater impact on Mexican violence than do gun shows in the border states.
