Craig Robinson responded to my post yesterday regarding the focus group that The Iowa Republican pulled together. He wrote:

Sounds like a lib. If you can't find a logical argument, just insult the other guy. "You are a Palin fanatic. No use trying to argue with you."

"Besides, what would I say? Unfortunately you have the facts on your side. So--I insult you!"

I’m with you, and Palin, on her Presidential run in 2012.

If anyone doubts her appeal to American voters, take at look at her Los Angeles reception during the 2008 Presidential campaign. Video is at

Suggestion: TURN YOUR SPEAKERS DOWN.

I’ll just cut to the chase here. I’ve been active in Iowa politics for over 10 years now. I’ve served on my county’s central committee, held two officer positions in said group, ran a half dozen campaigns, advised at least that many more, and last time was a paid district coordinator for a congressional race.

I know many in the central committee leadership and on the ground, as well as various activist groups, in mine and other districts all the way up to the state GOP chair, state senators and reps, including a couple in the leadership, and the Lt. Guv. I also know Craig Robinson, the guy that co-sponsored this focus group. We’ve all talked amongst ourselves fairly regularly about presidential politics.

I’ve put out that resume to put to rest any doubt that I don’t at least have an inkling of what’s going on in my state. So with that out of the way, let me tell you this: Iowa is a free-for-all right now. Don’t kid yourself otherwise.

I don’t care about any damn focus group. My ear is on the ground, and what I hear is that there are three tiers of candidates, Palin is in the top tier. I don’t know if she’s in the lead, but she’s not in near as much trouble as this would leave you to believe. She’s not a shoe-in either, but she is in the Alpha group.

Anyone who tells you otherwise is full of crap. Hence the above resume. Anyone who wants to sell this, please tell me what you base it on, cuz I’d like to hear how you’ve gathered you information.
