Here's a NOT-tragic mulatto: Derek Jeter. He'll be getting his 3,000 hit this year and sealing his eventual trip to Cooperstown. His number 2 will be retired by the Yankees one day, and he'll have a plaque in Monument Park. His career has gone by so fast! He's a well-adjusted man who has represented the Yankees well.

Until you posted, I could have told you who Derek Jeter was, but nothing about his race. Isn’t that the way it should be?

I’m not a Yankees fan, but I have to give Jeter his due. He’s a class act, keeps a low profile, and to be the type of star he is and to never make a huge public mistake in NY... impressive.

I didn’t know he was “mulatto”. I thought he was of Cuban or other hispanic/latino heritage. My husband always speaks well of him.
