I was one of the I Corps (ROK/US) Group G-2 hotline operators (early warning and reports intelligence analyst) at Camp Red Cloud in Uijongbu, Korea. I then was stationed at Fort Hood with the 191st Combat Intelligence Company, 312th Military Intelligence Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division where I did some tactical & strategic work and was the first enlisted man in the 1st Cav. ever promoted in Europe (or so they tell me). Next I was a senior intelligence analyst at the 102nd MI Bn. for the 2nd Infantry Division. I was in charge of analyzing several North Korean corps areas of operation. Transferred to Fort Polk, where I took my leave of the Army and headed off to school.
Thank you for your service
Thanks 2ndDivisionVet. I had suspected Korea, but was kinda hoping you had been around from the 2nd Division in the Ardennes. Just looking for some info that was lost during the St. Louis fire in 1973. My Father was with an organic combat engineering group attached to the 2nd. He was highly decorated, but save for his accomplishments at Remagen, I have been unable to track down any records. Thanks for the quick response and your service.
