It’s not much of a free country anymore.
This all sounds incredible. Surely the police must have known that if they did all of this, they would be facing a multimillion dollar lawsuit?
Actually, the end of the blog links to a second article. The City Attorney defaulted on response to the suit and a motion for default judgement is pending.
That's an understatement. The arrogance and sadistic nature of law enforcement's actions in this case is breathtaking. I am astounded at the number of incidents where these "thugs" show no common sense. I fear suppressing common sense part of their training. These incidents are warning signs of very dark days ahead for our Republic.
Liberty for all is truly at risk in our Republic.
Cities and counties carry insurance for cases like this but typically...there’s a deductible (I’m only going to guess it’s in the $250k range). There’s also a limit to the insurance policy. In this case....I’m guessing the limit is around $10 million. The insurance company handling this episode will watch carefully and likely hike the insurance rate for 2012 if the city/county loses.
What you have are wannabe cops. I would personally guess that forty percent of the law enforcement that we have in America...are wannabe folks. They are no real value to the citizens and simply occupy space and collect a check. We are paying for this with our property taxes and income taxes.
I wish the lady luck. I think the lawyers for the cops involved will attempt to negotiate this down and want her to sign a silence agreement. I’d stand at the amount and not give in. I think she can collect the entire amount....and I suspect her attorney will say the same thing. As for the politicians who stand over these cops....I might start distancing myself a bit and asking them what budget cuts will they agree with because of the coming court case.
Wear a burka or turban while you do these things. You won’t be bothered.
It would be nice if there were a source other than somebody’s blog-—perhaps some news organization will pick up on it. The whole thing sounds a bit preposterous, but in this day and age, you just never know..
It just mystifies me how experienced LEOs could possibly be this stupid. How on earth did they think they could possibly get away with this? You just know their superiors are going to go ape with them about doing something that is going to cost them mi££ion$, so what were they thinking?
i dont know but something just doesnt sound right about the whole thing. used to live in suffolk county, i dont recall the cops being left wing crazies.
Does anyone believe for even one nanosecond that these law enforcement people will uphold their oaths to defend the Constitution? Hm?
Something doesn’t sound right. Who carries $13,000 CASH on their person to pay for tuition? And only $5,300 goes missing? Why not all of it? The car was left unlocked, but the sons didn’t return to it until the next day? It almost makes me doubt the rest of her story.
Once I got to the car swerving, with her bouncing around handcuffed, and the driver laughing....
This sounds made up.
Places ruled by democrats are the most repressive.
“Wear a burka or turban while you do these things. You wont be bothered.”
I had a Burka Babe at Dulles demand that I take the hard drive out of my laptop. I looked at her and sternly said “NO”. She let me pass right on by. Course that was several years ago. Now I would probably be beaten severely.
Yeah, something seems odd to me, as well. She’s carrying thirteen thousand bucks in cash in her purse- And she stops at the shooting range with the money. Then stops again to take a picture of a helicopter. And what’s this mysterious injury they don’t mention how she got. Again, it’s serious enough that it’s bleeding and causing her to limp- yet she took the time to stop and photograph a decorative helicopter. And her bond was $50,000. Aren’t you allowed to post 10%? If so, her kids still had $7500 left from her purse. And her name is Genovese from New York. Any crime family connection?
I agree, my first instinct was that the story was stretched a bit. But the fact remains that after several days of incarceration, all charges were dropped. I think if they had anything on this woman, some charge would have been pursued just to protect their behinds from litigation.
Here’s another source...the Air National Guard’s version..
“...while carrying an assault rifle, a shotgun and 500 rounds of ammunition in her carsaid Monday that her arrest was a simple misunderstanding.”
The only valid outcome of this is that Nancy is paid 40 million dollars, the cops are thrown in jail, the administration officials resign, and the governor issues a written apology.
Will never happen. She has been branded ‘right wing’. Won’t happen.
Too bad she wasn’t a middle eastern male aged between 25 and 40 with indoctrination books in the car and yelling whatever it is they yell. Then she would have been set free after the initial stop. She would have already received an apology from the governor and would be living in luxury on her 40 millions dollars from the lawsuit for profiling and jihadophobia etc.
***It would be nice if there were a source other than somebodys blog-perhaps some news organization will pick up on it. The whole thing sounds a bit preposterous, but in this day and age, you just never know..***
Agreed!
i guess it could happen, but walking around with cash money to pay your kids tuition? why would anyone be dumb enough to do that? i am pretty sure you dont walk into the school with a wad of cash and hand it over. i get nervous if i have $300 bucks on me. not that i got $300 to throw around anyway lol. personally never seen that much cash in a wad.
so yeah, the whole thing is weird. plus, in my limited experience, the cops dont really tee off on you unless you act like a jerk. i guess it could happen, but usually when stuff like this goes down, there are two sides to the story.
obviously i dont know the real story here. just saying.
