The ugly “rent-a-mob” picketers with their hateful signs are the worst PR the public serpents union movement can have. If I were a teacher, lying that I was on sick leave, I would expect to be fired by the taxpayers in my school district for being part of this Leftist mob.
There was a time when unions might have been a positive influence. That time has mostly come and gone. If union members realized the big picture of how their dues were being used...they’d likely quit and laugh over how stupid membership was in the first place.
Among my previous functions was being a shift supervisor in a chemical plant who had the joy of having to cross picket lines to work through a couple strikes...trust me, the working class population absolutely EATS UP the stuff that people like Richard Trumka serves up. As for the NEA and government worrkers, I’m not sure yet...I think 64% opposition is probably a little high and if the economy and government fiscal situations were better, the “regular folks” would line up much more behind the unions.
“Workers struggling for their rights,” yadda yadda...all the usual clichés would apply.
Lefties have bitten off more than they can chew, big time, this time. They can not win this argument, and will not, if for no other reason than there is no money for pay for liberal pipe dreams.
Better still, Obie’s exposed himself in direct opposition to this 64%. All across the US the govt. is fighting the people; whether it’s unions in Wis or Ohio, the EPA in the Gulf, immigration in Az.
Obie and the Dems are cracking up, they must see the trouble that’s headed their way with all their great work of the last legislative session being undone and unfunded.
They might be able to run across state lines and hide for a while, but eventually reality will bite ‘em in the ass.
imho it’ll take down not only dems, libs, lefties, and Obie, but unions too. Love it love it love it. This is better than the ass-kicking delivered in Nov.
But they are not concerned with public relations.
They are concerned with fundamental transformation.
Over and over again, history teaches that force must be met with force.
We now have a government with one set of rules for the Cambridge Police Department, and another for the New Black Panther Party. One set of rules for Republican campaigns, and another for Democrats.
One set of rules for Wisconsin elected representatives, and another for the SEIU.
One definition of "civility" for us, another for them.
I have predicted since David Boies first articulated the "will of the people" argument in November 2000 in Florida that the Democrats would eventually come to rely on an SA.
They no longer accept that arithmetical counting of votes confers legitimacy to rule. They have not accepted this since at least 2000, and perhaps before.
They win an election? Fine. Blood is a big expense.
They lose? Look at their standard behavior now after they lose, everywhere. Florida. Washington State. Minnesota. Those were close, so cheating, or trying to cheat, was enough.
But a landslide like Wisconsin? Forget about it. That means war.
"We are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America".
You thought he was kidding?
