Lynn Vincent was Palin’s collaborator for “Going Rogue”. As far as I'm concerned, it was a perfect fit. They have similar world views, and Vincent has a very readable writing style.

I read about this before the book was published, and apparently Palin keeps a pretty detailed journal. So, I'm sure the book was Palin's story as told with the help of a gifted wordsmith.

People are real odd about this ghostwriting business. If they don’t take it as an insult, they feel the need to explain it away. As if without knowing Palin kept a journal I’d imagine she was the equivalent of a drooling.

Like I said before, ghostwriting is so ubiquitous, you don’t have to explain it away either way. People tend to think, in unreflective moods, that literate people ought to be able to write a book. But knowing how to read and write is to releasing a blockbuster book as making PB&J sandwiches is to launching a 4-star restaurant. Like everything else in life, ingoring savants and the lucky, it takes years of practice to hone your craft.
