They are falling for the lib media rope-a-dope.... all the lib hit pieces and bogus PPP polls, e.g. Palin is unelectable. I am old enough to remember Reagan. Like you said, he was considered very "unelectable" a "war mongerer" and down about 20 to Jimmy Carter (all done to depress the base). It was only after his presidency was he suddenly considered mainstream and a great president.

Most of these jokers know only what they have read about Reagan and they don’t even know that well, as there are many very good and accurate books on Reagan.

They are roughly as ignorant as the dear leader who doesn’t even know who the Gipper was or what he actually said.
