Ten years ago seems about right, but I’m not absolutely certain. I have a great shot of Hale-Bopp over Pilot Mountain, a sort of unusual looking mountain standing well away from any others, a “monadnock.” Had the photo enlarged and framed, it’s on my fireplace mantle.
That makes me a little jealous. I wish I would have had a good camera back then. Or even now for that matter. I would have liked some good personal photos of Hale-Bopp.
