Michelle Bachmann: Obamacare the crown jewel of socialism

Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann fired up the crowd at the 38th annual Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) Thursday, calling Obamacare - the law Washington Senator Patty Murray helped write - "the crown jewel of socialism."

“And repealing it is the driving motivation of my life. The first political breath I take every morning is to repeal Obamacare,” she said.

Bachmann said the President has spent the last two years ushering in socialism with his policies, specifically targeting the massive health care law the House recently voted to repeal.

“Socialism might sell well in a Harvard faculty lounge,” she told the crowd. “But when it comes to finding a job, not so much.”

She warned that if President Obama won a second term in 2012, college-age adults would end up losing three-quarters of their pay in taxes, citing statistics from the National Center of Policy Analysis.

A post at John Goodman's Health Policy Blog at the NCPA website shows that in addition to premium increases of up to 111 percent, the "implicit marginal tax rate for workers earning as little as $25,000" could be as high as 60 percent, while those making $50,000 could see marginal rates of 65 percent.

Goodman writes that as many as 19 million people are predicted to lose their employer-provided insurance and approximately 8.5 million seniors and disabled people are at risk of losing their Medicare Advantage plan, despite the President's promises that people could keep their existing coverage.

A federal judge has ruled the law unconstitutional, however, Democrats like Senator Dick Durbin are determined to implement it anyway, claiming the judge did not issue an explicit injunction.

Liberals continue to claim that once people find out what is in the bill, they will like it, and they are using every trick they can to ...

Loved watching her say this - even though she's going to be trashed by the likes of Chris Matthews.

I was just thinking supporters of Michelle or Sarah will be following them into media hell if either one or both run for president and vice-president. I just hope those of us who support them can keep our cool and be civil by keeping to the facts true and simple. I am sure the ladies would be able set such an example for us. It would be simply awesome to have 2 woman running for president and vice-president. A completely true-Fem (true feminism) accomplishment. Might not happen but one needs a dream.

I really like Michelle Bachmann, but I think her public speaking skills are far weaker than those of Sarah Palin. What was with her telling the audience at CPAC to stand up serveral times at one point in her speech?

Donald Trump was very good at CPAC..
He didnt use the word RINO but he did say he was a "REAL" republican..
Im starting to get the feeling normally he would not be a good President.. BUT:
These are NOT normal times.. I am thinking about him..
He would tear Obama and any of his lawyers a new ass in a debate..

AND if they would NOT debate he knows exactly how to capitalize ON THAT...

Trump / Palin or Bachmann might be the answer..

Not to mention he’d never be afraid to fire anyone.

I’m not for Trump. His local antics in Palm Beach have me knowing better than to put him in the top spot. He’s definitely self-serving and let the little guy be damned. Hell, he wanted Palm Beach International to re-route all of it’s flights to make sure they don’t fly over his precious Mar-a-lago.

I agree, hosepipe. Before, the thought of Trump running would have been laughable. But as our PRIMARY goal should be to defeat Obama in 2012, we may have to settle. Don’t get me wrong. A Reaganesque Conservative is preferable.
But defeating O. at all costs might mean that someone we had never expected will be our candidate.
I’d rather see Trump than Romney!

An all women ticket would scare the pants off of Libs/MSM/Obama and his minions. Would be fun to watch and I’d help with the campaigns again. Still smarting from spending my time and energy to help McNasty go down in defeat.

Not defeating Obama but what to do after that?..
WHO?? is to dig us out of the massive hole we are in..
To restore America as the worlds prime business district??...
Palin / BAchmann / Gingrich??,,

TRUMP is starting to look quite the one to do just that..
With a republican Congress he could do it too..
Probably make himself much richer in the process.. BUT:..
WHY NOT..

I’d never vote for trump. He’d be more interested in celebrity than substance, a lot like the current jackass in the White House.
