Before the scandal broke, the ATF was pushing for a serious increase in its power and reach through an “emergency” regulation calling for drastically increased record keeping for rifle sales in the border states. Trying to eliminate the competition much like any other criminal smuggling ring.
I wonder if they were paid in drugs to "walk" back home.

This is outright treason on the part of the ATF, and a parallel to the FBI's Cointelpro which the left claimed that the FBI paid infiltrating agents were the only members of the targeted dissident groups that actually committed crimes.
Let's see how the leftists and MSM speak up now, about paid ATF agents actually running guns so they can accuse others of doing so.
