Over Labor Day weekend, in between failed fishing excursions and burgers, my friends and I played a popular party game: Guess the likely 2012 presidential field.
We tossed around the usual suspects - Mike Huckabee, Newt Gingrich, Sarah Palin, Mitt Romney, Tim Pawlenty - and we agreed that if things don't get considerably better over the next two years, any one of them could give President Obama a run for his money.
But for my friends - three thirtysomething left-of-center moderates who voted for Obama in 2008 - only one name would make them consider pulling the lever for someone else: Hillary Clinton.
It's a ridiculous prospect. Clinton has insisted she will not run again. She's been a loyal soldier for Obama, and challenging an incumbent doesn't usually work out too well for the challenger.
Still, the unlikely prospect of a Clinton-Obama faceoff got me thinking. Maybe she could run. And more to the point, maybe she should run.
Sure, I'm a Republican who can hardly be trusted to offer objective advice to Democrats I've long lambasted. But believe me when I tell you, two years of Obama has even me seeing Clinton in a much different light than in 2008, when I thought the only thing worse than a new President named Obama was another one named Clinton.
My friends aren't the only ones who think that Clinton should reconsider her vow not to run again. A dentist from Chicago has paid for a slew of Hillary for President ads that tout her as "one of the most admired women in our nation's history."
Even though I disagree vehemently with her political world-view, he's right. Just as I've taken issue with some of the liberal attacks against Sarah Palin, I challenge conservatives to acknowledge that Hillary is exactly

Cupp came out and said something like Rick, what's up with Sarah Palin not attending CPAC?
Then she followed up and said, well you wouldn't have passed right?
Little does this women know, she has never attended CPAC.
It didn't matter, she was looking for headlines and got them.
Look at her Twiiter page ,and see how proud she was of the left wing rag Politico picking up the slander on Palin.

Santorums comments were clearly a nudge at Palin, but for me it was Cupp who was looking for some controversy on her first show.
Glenn, you made a big mistake, you will regret the day that you hired this women who tries to be everything to everyone.
I mean the other day she said to Glenn, that she admired Lindsay Graham, and in the article above she says how Hillary Clinton was a self made women, who any girl could look up to and admire.
Clearly S.E. you weren't ready to become the next so called NY conservative, with the skillfull ability to mask your core ideology in undermining the grass roots conservate movement.
You shot your wad in the first show, now I believe you will have a difficult time regaining trust with many of the freedom loving Americans that make up most of Becks audience.
You can talk about the second amendment and how you love red meat all day, it doesn't make you a patriot or a conservative.
And you sure as hell, are no Sarah Palin.
What makes a patriot is when you stand firm to principles no matter the circumstances or paycheck.
You got your thrill for one day and now your 15 minutes of fame are up.
You could have learned a life lesson from someone like Govenor Palin and just been authentic, instead you chose the Hillary (cheap) route and did great damage to your credibitiy if you ever had any.
I heard AOL is looking, after your first show it seems like more your style.
Good luck
Check with Hillbuzz guys to see what THEY think of Hitlery.
Hell, they used to campaign for her....
But, they saw the light......unlike you, Cupp.
Clinton is CRAP, and you know it.
And, you’re “bought”. It’s plain as day. Waiting for the mail to come with soros’ check, I’ll bet.
I do not know why Beck has taken up with this S.E gal,
his chat last week about it was that he does not hire people for his show who are in lock step with his thoughts???
Really?
Like maybe Reagan should have asked Carter to be VP?
That makes no sense.
Just like Beck.
I listen in very small doses like when I am on my lunch hour.
Good comedy, but his canned laughing and the idiot boys he employs are boring at best. Maybe they appeal to the 19-27 year old who lives at home with mom and thinks they are conservative. Oh brother....
Oh yea, i forgot to ask:
what size Cupp is she?
No doubt anyone that has to put conservative on their twitter page tells you something.
Looks like Becks hire of that Huffington post gal is paying off for the left.
I think Beck is great but this is a huge mistake to hire someone who is looking to undermine the very work he has done.
I believe SE Cupp set him up, but also the point NO ONE seem to be talking about....
Santorum said Sarah was ‘mom to all these kids’, kept her busy and away. Santorum has more kids, but his kids’ mom takes care of them so he can go do whatever he wants....and that makes me mad that he gave that impression!
I won’t be listening to or watching SE Cupp after her tweet, so proud she ‘made’ it on Politico....and expressing Santorum said Palin didn’t show for CNOTES....Think Beck has made a huge mistake on SE Cupp.
I have to say that Beck is telling it like it is and yes many times on radio he messes around and it is difficult to listen to. But remember all the work he has done and for FOX viewers, where would they be without him?
I think Santorum knew what he was doing but she was pushing for it too which was so obvious.
The girl should just move on she is not cut out for conservative radio, because she isn’t conservative.
Cupp is a total plant for the left.
I think she is liberal pretending to be conservative.
I think it was on Monday’s or Tuesday’s radio show Glenn gave some mealy-mouthed statement about hiring Cupp because he wants people in his organization who differ from him, etc., yack-yack-yack. I’m a fan of Glenn, but he frequently pulls some idiotic screwup that either offends me or gives me brain cramps. His snickering today about the idea of Jesus coming back on his radio show did the former; and his hiring of Cupp to go around the country blowing hot air which sounds commie-lib to me, does the latter!
Yea Cupp thinks Hillary should be admired, the same women who’s idol was Alinksy and who has said it takes a village to raise a child. Unreal !!!
Who will it be? That I do not know, but, I do know that it will not be Hillary.
If the people that sponsored obama though that Hillary could have done the job, she would be in the White House now instead of obama.
S.E. Cupp? Doesn’t that make this a mandatory pic thread?
Nah, liberal women do nothing for me unless they are really hot.
S.E.:
Small, erotic?
Hillary and Barack are two cookies cut out of the same dough; like two peas in a pod. Hillary rode Bill’s rancid coattails on the wondrous idea that she had once slept with Bill Clinton. Whoop de dooo!!! (Every time I think of the Clintons, a whole glamut of rotten balogna invades my nostrils. Bill as First Lady? No thanks.) She’s been as fatuous on this Egypt thing as Obama has. We’ve had way too much Clinton in this country. Clinton paved the way for what we have now. Lord help us!
I agree but getting back to the point this SE Cupp is a disaster and clearly looking to damage our strongest candidate.
Dude! You’re a chick!
You must have hit the wrong button, porn must be on other window, good luck..
