Obama: Corporate profits must be 'shared with workers'
The American Thinker Blog ^ | February 08, 2011 | Rick Moran

Nothing wrong with profit sharing - as long as it's a private transaction either between an employee and the company or the union and the industry.

But Obama's not concerned about that kind of setup. In fact, he makes it sound as if government would have a role in enforcing such profit sharing (video at RealClearPolitics link)

"'If we're fighting to reform the tax code and increase exports, the benefits cannot just translate into greater profits and bonuses for those at the top. They have to be shared by American workers, who need to know that opening markets will lift their standard of living as well as your bottom line,' President Obama told the Chamber of Commerce on Monday morning."

Someone might suggest a way this would work. I suppose government could mandate a certain percentage of profits - "excess profits" - be put in a kitty for all workers. Or government could just seize what it thinks is too much profit and redistribute the wealth.

Any way you look at it, it's more coercion, more redistributive nonsense from someone who has no respect for business or the people who create wealth.

Corporate profits must be 'shared with workers'

Does that calculus apply to corporate losses too?

They’re already shared with workers and they’re called jobs.

They’re shared again and their called taxes.

If they’re shared again it’s called communism.

“Corporate profits must be ‘shared with workers’..”

I thought they were already doing that. I always called it a paycheck and a job?

The more the gains the more are hired and paid more.

The less the latter

He has a Columbia and Harvard Degree.

Not just for jobs alone what would life have been without Oil or cars and so what if Mr. Rockefeller and Ford became richer.

Hell 100% of Obama causes are suppported by their money.

Um, well, what are ‘shareholders’?

If corporate profits aren't spread around enough it's because the banks and other government favored institutions own the majority of the shares. Maybe if the banks, fascist foundations, and "educational" institutions, were all in trouble and had to sell off shares there would be more people getting shares of the profits.

Alas, we'll never know because benevolent Saucer-ear keeps pumping money into the banks. Bailing them out on the mortgage derivatives was bad enough, but putting a transfusion bag the Fed keeps full in them is another.

Nothing prevents employees from owning stock in the companies that they work for.

In fact, many companies have employee stock owner benefit plans.

If theres no profit, theres no jobs.
If they don’t share profit with shareholders, then why would anyone invest any money

So if Obama get his way of making sure all profit goes back to workers. Then what we will have is less jobs and less investment

Corporate welfare dwarfs the HHS budget.

The American citizen is “not too big to fail”.

NAFTA, GATT, the WTO and corporate cosponsored open borders are destroying the American middle class.

There is no such thing as Free Trade anymore. Not when you view labor as simply a moveable commodity which seeks the lowest level bottom line.

Worldwide, the aggregate wage is any anywhere from 2.00 a day to about 1.20 an hour. Corporate profits do not have to be shared with workers.... I guess I'll make a good pirate then if it comes down to it though. Make those Somoli pirates look like pikers. And Corporate profits are showered on those guys.

Any one of his commies will do. Maybe he’ll bring back Van Jones-—he would be “perfect” for lecturing “gray capitalists.”

We need to start thinking about after Obama has been replaced by a Republican president in January 2013.

Never mind Obama.

What are WE going to do, to bring back American jobs?

Evidently that old fart Donohue who runs the CoC wasn’t listening because he was all smiles and ready to kiss Zer0’s ass after he heard the Won’s manifesto on profits.
