I watched him when I was a kid. It was a circus act and I don't recall anyone taking this buffoon seriously. It seemed as though he was irrelevant after a couple years deservedly so. No.  He had a nighttime talk show on WWOR Channel 9 in NYC, and before that he was on KFBK radio in Sacramento.  When he got canned at KFBK, the radio station hired Rush to take his place.
