About two weeks ago one of my co-workers was talking about where we'd gone to lunch ... I mentioned Chick-fil-A which is nearby... he then went on a rant (in the middle of the office) about the owners of Chick-fil-A being of the Mormon faith and their supporting of traditional marriage (only he put it in a they're a gay-hate corporation)... he said he'd never go to a place like that.

Okay.

I'm sitting at my desk and he's going in to this rant so everyone could hear (trying to shame me/others into changing where we should/should not go for lunch)... I told him "I have no idea about that" and quickly tried to change the subject.

This same guy goes on rants about Fox News and Andrew Britebart (spelling?).

Memo to self: rule 1... don't talk to anyone in the office. rule 2... if I forget, go back to rule 1.

I like Chick-fil-A and will never stop going.

If you’re the type, you can probably nail him to the wall for “Creating a hostile work environment.”
I wouldn’t go to that sort of trouble, though. Might sour relations with the rest of your co-workers.
