The Re-writing of Reagan Continued: Koppel Breaks the Reality Barrier
Conservative Hideout ^ | 1-28-11 | Matt

I’ve discussed previously that part of the left’s disinfo/propaganda campaign has been to rehabilitate the utterly failed presidency of Jimmy Carter, and, whenever possible, distort and minimize the accomplishments of Ronald Reagan. That effort continues, as Gateway Pundit discussed this nonsense from Ted Koppel from a few days ago.

The author has an interesting idea. What if a narrative to smear a candidate actually helped?

Carter was a complete loser. The bigger thing that Reagan did when he came into office was convince the South Korean government not to execute one of its opposition leaders. That opposition leader went on to become President of South Korea. Reagan was a force for democracy.

Ted Koppel is attempting to do what leftists have been trying for the past 30 years; hide the embarrassingly distinct differences between the inept failure, President Jimmy Carter and the confident, successful President Ronald Reagan, who had to ‘clean up Carter’s mess’. Oh sure, the left praises Reagan now and then - as long as it’s not about anything of substance - but they are always trying to build a Potemkin Village around the pathetic Carter presidency. Few are fooled except the leftists such as the annoyingly supercilious Ted Koppel. I suspect that Carter, at 86, keeps spewing his clueless twaddle from time to time because he hopes it will make folks forget how weak and feckless a president he really was, all those years ago.

The sad thing is that Carter really believes his own rhetoric.

Weird. Jimmah Cahtah's failure in Iran is how Teddy Koppel got his start. I didn't know Teddy was still out there.

Old SNL ditty. "This is Nightline. I'm Ted Koppel. I look like Howdy Dowdy." LOL!

I saw an interview with the American ambassador to Iran who was at the center of the crisis. This was obviously a Carter appointment. He claims that during the election of 1980, the one of the leaders of the hostage takers was watching tv during Reagan’s victory. He said they showed pictures of Reagan riding a horse with his cowboy hat on. The leader turned to the ambassador and asked what he thought Reagan would do. The ambassador said he knew Reagan was being portrayed as tough (as he put it) in the media. The ambassador paused for a moment and simply opened up his fingers on one hand and made an explosion sound.

So the idea the Iranians weren’t at least somewhat concerned about what Reagan would do is intellectually dishonest at best. I’m sure humiliating Carter was icing on the cake, not that Carter needed any help humiliating himself.

Funny few remember that Ted Koppel and Nightline started because of the Iran hostage crises!....

When the hostage were taken in Iran it was such a major deal... ABC started to do a shour "special report" after the 11 pm nightly news to just to give statue on Iran hostage crises...

The thing is the Iran hostage crises went so long....the "special report" on "Jimmy's" crises evolved into a permanent ongoing show ... "Nightline"...

That a sad statement as to how bad Mr Peanut was for the country

Ted Koppel is about as intellectual as Kathy Griffin is funny.
