My dog caught a sparrow and bloodied it up. I got it, kept it warm. It rebounded and I brought it outside, once I thought it had gotten over shock. It did fly away . . . minus one eye.
Some day I'll share with you the squirrel we rescued from a water filled storm drain. We brought it home and warmed it up with a hairdryer and heat lamp. We thought it was still stiff because it wouldn't move. That was until our dogs put their nose in the box. Long story short, about $10,000 worth of damage in the house between the dogs and squirrel.
Dishes, china closet, vases, curtains, television set, coffee pot, leather sofa, panes of glass on windows, glass coffee table, etc.....
