The Obama campaign didn’t release the COLB image. DailyKos released it.

Actually, Gibbs said in a presser that "we" put it on the internet, meaning him and Obamao.

Just an FYI.

Why did it appear first on Kos? (Ron, I’m just curious. Obviously you know more about all this than I do. I just wonder why if Obama released it, Kos posted it first.)

The Obama campaign sent the COLB to the Daily Kos as an email attachment on June 12, 2008. Kos said in the comments that the copy originated with the Obama campaign.

Same day, the Obama campaign also sent an e-mail to PolitiFact with a copy of the senator’s “birth certificate” as an attachment.

On June 16th, 2008 FactCheck.org released its article on the “birth certificate.” The article states they received the “birth certificate” from the Obama campaign.

Plus there’s the video of Gibbs saying about the COLB, “I put it on the Internet.”
