I think the media could be playing an all in strategery, by making repugnicans either confirm she is unqualified, and face the wrath of the Palin cultists, or go on record saying she would be a Presidential Candidate worthy of the repugnican nomination, thus making that person stake his credibilty on Palin's future performance.

Rush has the best response when with heavy sarcasm he says "Oh no, we are better off with 4 more years of Obama".

>>Who else would do a better job it?<<

I can think of no one. Problem is that the real question is, who else would get the vote of the center. It ain’t Sarah.

And the center, sadly, is who determines who wins.

Lincoln - a sitting president -was told by the then GOP leadership he couldn’t possibly beat McClellan in 1864.

Lincoln was abandoned by the Republicans and had to form his own party, though the Republicans took him back before the election. And only after there were decisive Union battle victories.

A Cain/Palin ticket would terrify the Dems and have them attacking a black man and a woman. Which would be SO easy to point out the hypocrisy.

The left goes after black conservatives with no holds barred. They would savage Cain with the basest of racial stereotypes and get away with it. Still if Cain can take the heat, let him run.

There is no doubt that the press hated Nixon more than any other Republican, including Reagan, until Palin came along.

Order For Palin To Lose, Someone Must Beat Her (To the PDS Chorus: Put up or Shup up)

For a number of weeks now, I have noticed here on Free Republic an increase in the number of posters who say that former Governor Sarah Palin is unelectable. he reasons proffered are usually two fold: First, her resignation as Governor of Alaska forever brands her as a quitter, and the American people will never elect a quitter. Second, she has been so damaged by the hostile MainStream Media, and will be further damaged in another campaign that she can never defeat Barack Obama in a general election. Leaving aside the criticisms of her for the moment (inasmuch as they have been addressed and debated in numerous other posts), I maintain that the 2012 election will be a referendum on Barack Obama. If he has succeeded, he will likely be returned to office. If, on the other hand, he has failed, he will be defeated, in effect fired by the American people. The GOP nominee, whoever that is, will in all probability become the 45th President of the United States. In a word, the GOP nomination will be worth having.

Which begs the question, and I address it specifically to those posters among you who have been quick to point out your perception of Palin’s flaws, including and especially her alleged “unelectability”: name the potential candidate(s) you believe a) would be a better President; and b) have the political skills and appeal to defeat her in a GOP primary. As the saying goes, you cannot beat something with nothing.

You know what, I think the communists relentless attacks on Sarah pushed her over the edge to make the decision to run, if for nothing else, she’ll explode their heads when she announces that she’s running.

The unbelievable fear and the amount of flack confirm that she’s over the target. She has been circling and bombing the target for years unlike scared Republican rabbits.

The communists will regret the day they started bombarding Sarah.

With all the above war terminology, I must be lacking the proverbial “civility.”

I believe the bastards are trying to push somebody to take her out.

The difference between Reagan and Palin; the DC bureacracy has learned from the Reagan experience and they now know how a people-popular candidate can disrupt their DC norm.

Spot on, disrupt their DC norm is what they fear most she has no fear of ratting out the rats in the good old boy club and cleaning up the joint.

I was going to link to the thread I started when it happened, but when I search all “Articles Posted By Robroy”, it is gone. It must have been deleted for some reason. I was really careful to not quote anything she said, and only included some pictures.

Anyway, what I told her was not that she should not run, but that I was of the opinion she could do more good without the shackles of being an elected official. I also said that if she did run, I’d vote for her.

I’m really puzzled as to why my article/thread is gone, though. It was up for quite a while.

I don't dispute anything you posted. What makes it distressing is the total control the Media has over many people in this Country.

Is it possible for a candidate to be elected President without the Media? Used to be, yes. But, with the continued dumbing down of our voting population, probably no, not now.

If my perception of Media's influence is correct, the only way a Conservative can win the Presidency is to demonize the opponent Media, no easy task.

Maybe this is a war which has to be fought. If that's the case, is there a better candidate than Gov Palin?

I had tried to be secretive about what she actually said. She was at SeaTac airport on the day of her Seattle speech waiting for her flight home. My wife and I spent a little over a half hour with her in a "private waiting room" and we just talked politics, grand kids, why she still wears glasses, and other stuff. I didn't want to bring up politics because I figured she would be burned out on it. But once it came up, she did have a lot to say about some things though: The couric interviews and why that went south; comments on the "handlers" prepping her for the debate and their instructions to her; and McCain's handlers in general.

But it is really stuff I don't feel comfortable sharing with "the world" in any kind of detail.

She is strikingly personal and the sincerity is genuine, and she proved it when I lost track of what I was saying at one point. Her response surprised me - in the good way. I honestly believe that if she was not swamped with what is going on in her life and being pinged by millions of people that she and my wife would be personal friends. They really hit it off. It was fun to watch them go back and forth with each other.

We had a guy come in and snap this picture with my phone on that day. The photo has a date stamp of April 9, 2010:

I agree. I am shocked by the polls about how many people actually think Sarah was partly to blame for the recent shooting in AZ. Actually, stupefied. It says a lot about the electorate - and why we really are living in a version of the movie “Idiocracy”.

People just let a couple of headlines slip through and any “entertaining” comments and that’s it - then it is back to “dancing with the stars”, Wii, Lost, or whatever else they actually pay attention to.

It will burn us. It actually already has. The man is almost at the door.

Hey Sarah, don’t run for President.

Mike Huckabee is inevitable. Please don’t steal his thunder. He is the greatest GOP candidate for President since Lincoln.

And if not Huck, we can always fall back and nominate “the next in line” Mitt Romney. Glory, glory Hallejuah!

Sarah, you’re a nobody compared to these “legends”. Stay barefoot and whatever. We don’t need you Sarah.

After all George Lucas says the world will be ending in 2012.

Personally, I think the US will be a VERY different country coming out of 2011 than it is now. It will be interesting to see how it affects who each party selects as its darling in that environment.

He who moves the center, wins. Sarah can do that. She has that connection. Only the frothing Left and establishment RINO’s don’t like her.

I posted this on another thread:

Free thinkers have come to realize the hardcore progressive stance which is communist leaning is only carried by about 20% of our general population. They are heard as a more significant percentage simply because they are strategically placed and they speak the same message in unison. It’s the old Gideon trick.

It’s very easy to realize the message when you hear confirmed members of this group begin saying it. Slowly the rest jump in and it starts to sound like an overwhelming voice, but it is not. It is 20%.

I personally cherish my God given ability to figure out things for myself. I don’t intend to be manipulated by a bunch of communist leaning voices seeking to “finish their long march” just because they want to see if they can finally create the perfect communist society.

That’s all this is about. People need to ask themselves, “do I want to be part of a quasi-communist experiment, or do I want to keep this “American experiment” alive for another round. When you boil it down to the simplest factors, you know which way you’ll be voting.

Most of the people that I know that think she is an “idiot” are centrists. It’s why I was willing to even bring it up to most of them.

Then again, maybe they are not as centrists as I think they are.
