As a captive audience in front of Obama’s bully pulpit, there was little the justices could do but sit there and take it (although Justice Alito was seen to mouth “not true” in response to Obama’s charge that the decision would allow foreign interests to influence our elections).

In retrospect, wasn't this just a sign of things to come?

There, at last year's SOTU address, Obama's at the pulpit, and in a most derisive tone, slams the Supreme Court for performing their Constitutional duty. The media never questions whether or not Obama was out of line for his comments and tone.

But remember the beating that Alito took? "Was it appropriate for a Supreme Court Justice to respond like he did?" "Should USSC Justices Have Term Limits?" On and on...

You can bet that in the upcoming months, we'll be hearing more and more "vitriol" and "devisive" comments coming out of the House of Representatives...at least, that's how the MSM will define it. Any opposition to an Obama policy or program, any questioning of the current administration, and Speaker Boehner and company will be pilloried. This is a systematic smear campaign against the Republicans and Tea Party--I hope we're ready for it.

Well said and you’re 100% right.

I was astounded that a sitting president would berate SCOTUS members when they were a captive audience not only in public but at the SOTU address. It showed the arrogance and complete lack of civility of Obama and he’s not about to change.

I believe what is more astounding than that is the enemedia tried to put the whole thing on Justice Alito and that’s where the biggest problem lies and why I said until they change we have to rely on alternate media.
