I'm the same as you - and went in with a skeptical 'Wellstone-memorial' expectation. Not quite like that, and yes, I thought Zero refrained somewhat with the overt slams, but absolutely did I weird out when Janet Incompetanto and Eric 'Nation of Cowards except me' Holder read Scripture. Only thought I said to the Lord was, "Ok God - You promised it wouldn't return void - even when read by jackasses".

Exactly, I had the same feelings and all. I figured Obama would refrain from an all out attack. Seems at first he said something, I can’t remember what it was and I thought ah oh here it comes. You could tell he was moved by the little girls death. Probably thinking about his own children. Then he seemed to perk up and go into campaign mode.

Only thought I said to the Lord was, "Ok God - You promised it wouldn't return void - even when read by jackasses". Balaam was rebuked by a jenny-ass, so it's not that tall of an order for Him.
