Alright everyone...I’m punching out, but just wait and see what happens. I totally get that people change, but they have to choose to change. Haven’t you ever seen all those stories about lottery winners who couldn’t handle suddenly having all the money and then they end up worse than before. Same thing here...in order to change you have to want to change. If you really think this guy has changed ask any of his kids. Maybe I’m wrong...but let’s not kid each other about the fact that this is rewarding bad behavior. Either way thanks for the robust conversation.
Alright...one last thing before I’m gone...further proof.

He’s been sober for two years. Why is it a “handout” when someone hires him to do a job with talent he obviously possesses? I’m glad you weren’t deciding whether I got a second chance after I cleaned up my life.
Of course, it’s now in Williams’ hands. He’s going to look at that first paycheck and wonder if anyone would know if he went out and scored, just this one time. A little prayer right here and now that he does the right thing.
Blog pimping here is a big no-no, and doing it on your first day sometimes ( and should) get you banned.
You've been warned.
Crabs, bucket.
How dare he get a second chance when I never had my first!
Been down this road myself. You are right that people have to want to change, and that it’s hard work.
As for me, I’m praying for this man, and hopefully in the future someone will take a chance on me. I’m just one of those little wallflowers who sit and work hard and try to find an open door.
I disagree that blessings are limited. His gift doesn’t take anything away from me. I’ve never done drugs, been on the street, I’ve tried to stay away from it. But then I also don’t have the God-given talent that this man has. I can be sour, or I can simply accept that God has chosen to bless this man now, and hopefully me later.
I had no idea about the subject of your essay.
I lost that warm feeling when I saw his rap sheet.
Guess you must feel the same way about Glenn Beck. Sad that you can’t see the positive in these types of stories.

The guy certainly has a face for radio.
I caught part of an item on todays evening news (KCRA3-Sacramento)that Williams and daughter had an incident. Didn’t catch all of the news item as I had more important things to do... Welcoming mrsdd home from work.
Welcome! FR needed another blog pimp...

I love hearing that!!! You're one of the GOOD guys! I'm very fortunate to have one like you, too. Blessings!!!!
If Saul, a man who boasted of his persecution of Christians, could have his "Damascus Road Moment" through a face-to-face encounter with The Holy One of God, Jesus Christ, then is it not possible for Ted Williams to have his redemption in the form of this situation?
Still, there is the fact that it isn't necessarily whether or not someone has that moment of redemption, or a way out of the muck and mire... it's what that person does with the opportunity. Time, and Mr. Williams' actions, will tell.
A third side of the story is that many of those offering him jobs may be doing it for the publicity.
You mean, I can’t do the “drink D-sheare’s coffee” initiation ritual anymore?
You’re just jealous. You probably hate all lottery winners, too.
Piece is spot on imo
And to all you IBTZ’ers: get a clue as to what is zottable and maybe wvwn read BEFORE you post.
What does that mean - exactly?
