Doesn’t anyone think the parents ought to have some responsibility in this? If he is the usual schizophrenic his recognizable symptoms started late teens-early twentys.

Parents would have seen this and should have sought counseling. After all, at 24 he still lived with them.

Under reasonably normal circumstances, yes; but from all I read and hear, dad was also an antisocial mook.

I heard on the news this morning that a friend of his said the family didn’t even communicate with each other. Said no one in the family had a relationship; they all lived separate lives. Don’t know it that’s true but it might explain why they never sought treatment for him. Very sad if true.
