The science channels seem to be devolving into monsters, catastrophe and ancient alien channels.
I guess that’s what grabs an audience.
Actually The Science channel hasn’t gone for the stupid stuff. That’s mostly The Learning Channel which is populated with ghosts, aliens, and all manner of other worthless fluff. Science still manages to have pretty good standards.
Discovery used to be more science focused, but now seems rather fixated on reality work shows (Deadliest Catch, Ice Road Truckers, etc) and some of the ghost nonsense.
History also has managed to stick to mostly good stuff.
