Since Kapiolani Medical Center published a letter from Barack Hussein Obama in their Centennial Magazine in which he mentions Kapiolani as “the place of my birth,” I think the former Governor is on pretty solid ground.

It makes sense to me that when Dr. Fukino reported back to Governor Lingle, the Director mentioned that Kapiolani was listed on the certiificate as the birth hospital but when the media release was run past the Attorney General’s office, they ruled out naming the hospital as a violation of HIPAA law privacy rules regarding medical records.
I don’t think that Governor Lingle was confused at all, I think that she just didn’t remember the exact wording of a news release that had been issued by the state Health Department 10 months earlier.
