From what I can find out, it went up sometime between Dec. 22nd and the 24th (the date of the article). A friend said there was a work crew by there on the 22nd but that he didn’t see the sign until today. We agreed, it was placed too far out of Austin proper to do much good. It was placed in GOP country rather than on the intersection of I35 and Dean Keeton at UT or down the street outside the parking garage at that big domed building. But, I see from the article that Lamar and the other Austin sign companies wouldn’t rent them sign space. Wonder who the owners are because Austin has more than it’s fair share of liquor and porn signage.

Not surprising but, that may be just for business purposes. They do know who their costumers are.

Funny how something like this causes such emotional stirs.
