While this flood crisis disaster is still happening here in Rockhampton, this Post canvasses the role of engineering for something like this, and also looks at the Fitzroy River Basin in general. The maximum flood peak is yet to be reached here in Rockhampton, and once that reaches us, the inundation will last for fourteen days or more in a city of 75,000 already totally cut off now.
