Well it was taught as fact during social studies, back when I was in grade school in the 60s.

I am sorry you received such a poor education. Did you go to public schools? I also was ion grade school in the 60’s and was taught the opposite, that if you were born in the USA you could someday be elected President. Isn't anecdotal evidence wonderful.

I also was taught that you had to be (a) born in the U.S. of (b) two U.S. citizen parents, in order to be eligible for the Presidency.
