I'll probably see the new version, and probably enjoy it, but you know, sometimes the original just can't be beat...
And speaking of "beat", or better said, "circle beat", that would be The Oscars.

True Grit is an awesome movie. I found it much better than the original. The Coen brothers (who’ve made some of my all time favorites like “Fargo,” “Oh, Brother where art Thou,” “No Country for Old Men,” etc.) are true masters of modern movie making.
This movie isn’t so much a remake as it is an homage to the original. It should be the picture of the year. By far.
