It is very obvious that whether we are talking about Phoenix or the Federal government, out of control spending is the means tho destroy any opposition to any government power. Government employees are simply grown as a voting block to overtake the rest of the country once and for all.

At first I thought this was about Phenix City, Alabama and I thought, “no way”.
Then I noticed the spelling of the city name was Phoenix.

I’d gladly receive half that amount just to sit and play solitaire and stay out of the way of private enterprise.

Government workers are the new ruling class. Get ready for the revolution.

You’re just jealous. Pension envy.

Have the Free Republic big-gov supporters showed up yet, attempting to convince everyone paying government employees lottery style wages are legitimate and justified?

I know what ya mean about the envy thing...A dated phrase to be sure...But ya never know anymore...
I just came across one Freeper that thought a fire chief from a small town making $200,000 per year in government retirement pension was legitimate, and not out of the ordinary...lol
Ya can't be too sure anymore.

Actually, I don’t think the poster was justifying the pension just the ability to retire then return to the same job. He supported the ability to do so. I believe the total compensation the Fire Chief would be received doing the same job was just under 1/2 million with 200k being pension.
Techinically, anyone can do that. The difference is the average person doesn’t have a government guarrenteed pension system to do it with. Big difference.

I love the juvenile answers from government union members when confronted with these stories. “Well, the job is dangerous, why don’t YOU work for the government then, but what about CEO’s/bankers, Reagan, Bush, Halliburton, etc”

Actually, I dont think the poster was justifying the pension just the ability to retire then return to the same job. Ya better go back and read his responses...I think it was pretty clear what he/she is supporting...

Our sheriffs here in OC make over 100,000. Is that the government employee that was convicted, yet has never served a day in jail? Or the new female that wanted to strip what few have CW of their permits?
These government employees are just over the freaking top...

Our sheriffs here in OC make over 100,000. I guess you were talking about deputies with over time etc, making 100k per year...I would imagine they're paying Gates replacement 180k+ per year...Just guessing though.
Did Gates ever go to jail?
I thought it was pretty funny him going to court with his wife and mistress...Ya can't make this stuff up. Like I said, these government employees are the pinnacle of arrogance.
